Intermediate Civil Engineer - Gisborne

INTERMEDIATE CIVIL ENGINEER – GISBORNE

 

Land Development and Engineering (LDE) is a forward-thinking and well-resourced engineering company. We are seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer who is passionate, self-motivated, and eager to learn; to join our growing team in Gisborne.

 

The successful applicant will get to work with, and learn from, a diverse and experienced group of engineers while gaining valuable experience to set them up for a successful engineering career.

 

Work will involve civil design works for a variety of projects, including but not limited to:

  • Preparation of drawings
  • Civil 3D modelling

Undertake analysis and design to produce reports for the following:

  • Construction monitoring
  • Wastewater management
  • Stormwater management
  • Infrastructure
  • Earthworks
  • Pipe networks
  • Roading
  • Coastal revetments
  • Retaining walls
  • Building foundations
  • Slope stability

Construction Observation (MSQA):

  • Attend Toolbox and client meetings
  • Organise and manage contractors
  • Tender and contract preparation and management
  • Preparation of specifications, schedule of quantities, and cost estimates
  • Fill testing (penetrometer, shear vane, arrange for NUC’s)
  • Clegg hammer testing 

Undertake field investigations for projects:

  • Scala penetrometer tests 
  • Hand auger boreholes

 

The technical competencies essential to this position are:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)
  • 2+ years' experience working with NZ Standards
  • Understanding of AutoCAD and proprietary software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
