Land Development and Engineering (LDE) is a forward-thinking and well-resourced engineering company. We have a great opportunity for an experienced professional to join our team in Napier to provide leadership, support and technical expertise to the growth of the team and our business in the Central Region,
The role is two-fold:
- sharing knowledge to and working with a group of senior engineers whilst passing on the value of your experience to the younger members of the civil team – setting them up for a successful engineering career of their own.
- Focussing on technical, client management, project management and leadership.
LDE have a very supportive management team of which this role will be an important addition. Its an opportunity to use your technical knowledge and expertise in the hands-on civil design works for a variety of projects including:
- Small to large subdivisions
- Roading and pavement design
- Stormwater and wastewater management
- Coastal Revetments, etc
- And being involved in projects across other LDE offices.
You could be a senior engineer looking to take a career move into a management role while keeping your hand in with specialist type projects. You’ll be a regular user of Civil3D, AutoCAD or proprietary software of a similar nature. Maybe you are wanting a new opportunity in a regional city to better manage a work/life balance.

The technical competencies essential to this position are:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent degree
- 5+ years’ experience working in New Zealand and with New Zealand Standards
- Able to work autonomously
- Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D modelling and Microsoft Suite of programmes
Ideally you could also have:
- Staff management experience
- CPEng or being close to becoming chartered.
