In January 2022, Waiū Dairy Ltd contracted LDE to provide surface water and groundwater monitoring and reporting for consent compliance at their Kawerau site. The services included:
- Collecting representative water samples bimonthly from the five groundwater monitoring bores (February, April, June, August, October, and December) for laboratory and field analysis.
- Collecting representative water samples bimonthly from the three surface water monitoring points (February, April, June, August, October, and December) for laboratory and field analysis.
- Developing and maintaining a database tracking water quality trends and identifying exceedances against background data, National Policy Statement for Freshwater Management (Freshwater NPS), Australian and New Zealand Guidelines for Fresh & Marine Water Quality, Australian and New Zealand Environment and Conservation Council (ANZECC) and the Drinking Water Standards for New Zealand (DWS).
- Completing a factual report for each sampling round that discusses the results and trends and documents the site conditions, weather, and any other observations.
LDE provides environmental monitoring and reporting services to ensure that Waiū Dairy meets the resource consent conditions for discharges to land. The work involves bimonthly monitoring and reporting. To achieve this, LDE uses our field sampling and monitoring equipment for sample collection and complete field analysis.
