Graduate Engineering Geologist

LDE is a forward-thinking and well-resourced engineering company with an exciting opportunity for a professional to join our geotechnical team.  The role will involve working along side and being guided by the local team of engineers and scientists to support and service clients in the Gisborne district.

About the Role:

Depending on experience, there will be technical work to varying degrees of responsibility, with training provided, which would include the following areas:

  • Scala penetrometer tests; Hand auger boreholes; Test pits and CPT
  • Logging core samples; Slope survey profiling; Permeability testing
  • Fill testing; Clegg hammer testing
  • Proposal preparation, report writing,
  • Client and contractor liaison.

About the required competencies:

The technical competencies essential to this position are:

  • Bachelor of Science (Geology)
  • Up to 2 years post graduate experience in New Zealand.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
  • At least a restricted Driver’s License.
