LDE is a forward-thinking and well-resourced engineering company. We have an opportunity for an experienced engineer to be part of our professional, highly skilled multi-disciplinary team based in Ahuriri, Napier.
Growth and development of our team and clients are two critical parts of our business, and this is our commitment to our region.
What we offer:
- Competitive hourly rate
- Paid by the hour for each hour worked
- Primarily office based, with flexible working hours
- Some Work from Home available
- Wellbeing support programme
- A professional but relaxed working environment
- Challenging projects.
About the role:
This is primarily a technical role which will see you being fully immersed in designs of a specialist nature both commercial and industrial. As such you will have been a recent and regular user of SpaceGASS, or similar proprietary software.
To be successful as a senior member of the LDE team you will understand what it means to work in a high functioning team with a mind set to high standards. Working in a multidisciplinary company like LDE means being able to think laterally and interacting with different teams, thus providing seamless solutions for often complex problems. This requires attention to detail and a complete understanding of contribution as a member of the senior team.
Picture your workday starting at our premium Ahuriri waterfront office—free parking, harbour views from the deck, and the freedom to clear your mind with a boardwalk stroll whenever inspiration calls. It is the kind of environment where great engineering happens naturally.
Technical competency required:
- Chartered Structural Design Engineer
About you:
You will be a leader, able to advise and mentor, support others in producing high qualify outputs, and being a role model to those around you.
You will excel at client management, have a passion to develop and work with new and existing clients and become their preferred contact point.
You will have inherently good project management and delivery standards to support our “on time on budget” expectations, have confident and clear communication skills and the proven ability in preparing work-scopes/methodologies, budget estimates, analysis & design and effectively managing budgets. Importantly you will be self-motivated to turn out great work and have previously worked in a New Zealand consultancy business.
What next?
If you have the experience and technical expertise to support the responsibilities and the personal attributes to make a positive contribution to the team, we are interested to see your skills and experience in your CV .
Please email a letter of introduction and your CV to [email protected]
LDE’s office is closed over the Christmas/New Year break from 22 December, reopening on Monday 12 January 2026 so if you apply on or after 19 December, your application will be responded to in January.
If you are on a visa which allows you to work in New Zealand, it would be helpful to provide us with a copy.
