A section of Darwin Road was affected by a significant landslide. As part of the flood damage reinstatement of the road, LDE carried out a geotechnical investigation of the site and the design of a large MSE wall.
The design included the installation of two fans of horizontal drains within the slope below and extending beneath the affected area. The purpose of this was to inhibit the potential for future land movement supporting the reinforced earth wall. Raising the elevation of the ground with additional reinforced earth and reinstatement of the road completed our solution.
