Client FAQs
What LDE joining AtkinsRéalis means for your projects, contracts and contacts in New Zealand.
This FAQ is for our valued LDE clients across New Zealand. It has been prepared to keep communication open, clear and practical as LDE begins integration with WGA and AtkinsRéalis following completion of the transaction. It explains what the change means, what will stay the same, and how we will continue to support clients through this period.
In summary, LDE clients can expect continuity in project delivery, contracts, contacts, leadership and local decision-making in New Zealand. Integration activity is underway, but it will be managed carefully and communicated clearly where it has any direct impact on clients.

What are the key headlines?
As of 10 September 2026, AtkinsRéalis holds a 100% shareholding in WGAGH Pty Ltd, of which LDE is part. LDE will continue to operate as part of the AtkinsRéalis Group of Companies, with integration activity now underway. Our focus is on bringing the businesses together in a thoughtful and measured way while maintaining continuity for New Zealand clients, projects and relationships.
What does this acquisition mean for you as our clients?
For LDE clients, the key message is continuity. You will continue to work with the same New Zealand-based people, project teams and trusted local contacts, with access to broader engineering capability and specialist expertise from WGA and AtkinsRéalis where it is relevant to your project needs.
How will integration be managed?
Integration has commenced and will be managed in a staged and considered way. Our priority is to maintain continuity for LDE clients while bringing LDE, WGA and AtkinsRéalis together over time. Any changes that directly affect New Zealand client projects, relationships, systems or processes will be communicated clearly and with appropriate notice.
Will there be any disruption to ongoing work?
No change to your project timelines, deliverables or day-to-day contact. Integration has commenced and is being managed in the background by LDE, WGA and AtkinsRéalis. Your New Zealand project team continues exactly as it is. If anything ever needs your attention, we’ll raise it directly and early.
What remains unchanged for clients?
For now, the key things LDE clients rely on remain unchanged: your LDE contacts, New Zealand project teams, delivery approach, current contracts, project timelines and local project leadership. LDE will continue to operate with the relationship-led, responsive and technically focused approach our clients know.
Will I still be working with the same LDE people?
Yes. Existing client relationships, project teams and day-to-day LDE contacts will remain in place.
You’ll continue working with the same LDE people you know and trust, supported by local New Zealand insight and delivery experience. Where a project would benefit from additional specialist support, we can draw on broader WGA and AtkinsRéalis capability, but your established LDE relationship remains central.
Will our projects still be run from New Zealand?
Yes, your projects will continue to be led and delivered by the same LDE teams you work with in New Zealand.
If a project will benefit from broader specialist expertise from WGA or the wider AtkinsRéalis Group, we’ll always discuss this with you first. It is an added benefit, not a change to who is running your work.
Are our current contracts valid? Do our contracts or billing need to change?
There are no changes to contracts, delivery models or points of contact as a result of this acquisition. Should any future changes be required for New Zealand clients, they will be communicated clearly and promptly.
Will anything change later?
Some changes may occur over time as integration progresses, but they will be considered carefully and communicated clearly. If a future change affects the way we work with you, we will explain what is changing, why it is changing, when it will happen, and who to contact with questions.
Do we need to update supplier, procurement or vendor records?
There are no immediate changes required to supplier, procurement or vendor records unless we contact you directly. Existing LDE details, contact points and billing arrangements remain in place for now. If any administrative updates are required in the future, we will provide clear instructions and timing.
Who do I contact for tender opportunities?
Your LDE contacts remain the same, so please reach out to them as normal for tender opportunities, proposals or procurement-related enquiries. Contact information remains unchanged.
Who’s actually in charge now?
The same people. Your project decisions, delivery and day-to-day leadership are still made locally by the LDE team you already know.
LDE will continue to be supported by WGA as part of the AtkinsRéalis Group of Companies, which provides the strength of a larger organisation while keeping project decisions, delivery and day-to-day leadership close to the New Zealand clients and teams who know the work best.
Will this affect conflicts, probity or independence requirements?
We understand that some New Zealand clients may need to consider probity, conflict management or independence requirements as a result of the change in ownership. If this applies to your project or procurement process, please speak with your usual LDE contact so we can work through the appropriate requirements with you.
Has anything changed about how you handle our data?
Your data will continue to be managed through appropriate access, protection and approval processes. Confidential information will remain protected through LDE and WGA’s existing systems and controls unless we advise you otherwise.
Your usual LDE contact will be happy to answer any questions or direct you to the right team if you need added assurance.
Who is AtkinsRéalis?
AtkinsRéalis is a global engineering, design and project management company, headquartered in Montreal, Canada. They deliver end-to-end services across the full asset lifecycle, including consulting, advisory and environmental services, intelligent networks and cybersecurity, design and engineering, procurement, project and construction management, operations and maintenance, decommissioning and capital.
Operating in over 50 countries, they have been looking for opportunities to expand further into Australia and New Zealand.
Why has AtkinsRéalis acquired WGA, and what does this mean for LDE?
AtkinsRéalis has acquired WGA because the organisations share a similar approach to clients, people and technical excellence. For LDE clients, the important point is that this change is designed to build on the strengths already in place in New Zealand, not replace them.
LDE brings trusted New Zealand relationships, local delivery experience and strong technical capability. WGA adds broader regional scale and support, while AtkinsRéalis provides access to a global network of specialists, systems and digital capability.
Together, this creates a stronger platform for New Zealand clients: local LDE relationships and delivery, supported by broader regional and global resources where they add value.
What makes AtkinsRéalis and WGA a good fit for LDE clients?
AtkinsRéalis is a global engineering, design and project management company with an extensive international network. WGA and LDE bring established local relationships, regional knowledge and trusted delivery teams across Australia and New Zealand. The fit is based on building from those strengths, while giving clients access to additional expertise when it is relevant.
The intention is not to change what LDE clients value: local knowledge, responsiveness, trusted relationships and practical project delivery. It is to retain those strengths while adding broader support and technical depth where it helps clients and projects.
How will this benefit clients? How will this impact service quality?
LDE clients will continue to work with the trusted New Zealand teams they know, with access to additional WGA and AtkinsRéalis expertise where it is relevant to their project needs. This may include enhanced project delivery capability, broader service offerings and increased capacity to support small, large or complex projects.
The combined organisations bring together New Zealand relationships and delivery experience, broader regional capability through WGA, and global systems, digital tools and specialist knowledge through AtkinsRéalis.
Importantly, our focus remains unchanged: delivering high-quality, responsive and locally led services for New Zealand clients. The relationships, commitment and personalised approach LDE clients value today will remain at the heart of how we work.
Will existing LDE clients be required to engage with AtkinsRéalis?
Existing LDE clients will continue to engage with their local teams in the same way as they do today, with no obligation to access AtkinsRéalis’ global network.
The completed transaction expands the range of expertise available where it is relevant to New Zealand client needs, but project requirements and client choice will drive any broader collaboration.
Will leadership change and will LDE be rebranded?
LDE will continue to operate with its existing local leadership and client teams, supported by WGA and AtkinsRéalis.
Our logo is now LDE, An AtkinsRéalis Company.
Are you still a New Zealand business?
Yes. LDE remains a New Zealand-based business with local people, relationships and project delivery at its core. The acquisition strengthens the wider group’s position in Australia and New Zealand by expanding local footprint, sector depth and delivery capability.
What does this mean for LDE clients now that integration has commenced?
The focus is simple: business as usual for LDE clients.
Integration has commenced and we are taking a thoughtful and measured approach, with a clear focus on getting it right rather than moving quickly. Our priority is ensuring a seamless and uninterrupted experience for New Zealand clients.
What matters most day to day remains unchanged: our people, our local relationships and our focus on clients and partners across New Zealand. We are here to support you now and well into the future.
How does AtkinsRéalis’ global nuclear expertise align with New Zealand?
We recognise that New Zealand’s nuclear-free position holds significant importance for many New Zealanders. As part of a global organisation, we benefit from the expertise and experience of teams working across many sectors around the world. In New Zealand, our focus remains on supporting our clients, communities and infrastructure priorities, operating within New Zealand’s legal framework while creating new opportunities through access to global knowledge and capability.
How will clients be kept informed during integration?
We will keep LDE clients informed through direct communication from their usual local contacts, supported by broader updates where appropriate. Our aim is to communicate early, clearly and practically, particularly if any integration activity has a direct impact on New Zealand projects, relationships or day-to-day ways of working.
If you have any questions about the acquisition or integration, please speak with your usual LDE contact. They can answer your questions directly or connect you with the right person for further assurance.
