LDE Engineers & Scientists is a New Zealand engineering and environmental science consultancy. If you have any questions about this policy or the personal information we hold about you, you can reach us at admin@lde.co.nz or 0800 397 566.

We only collect personal information that you choose to give us, or that we need to provide our services and run this website:

• When you use our contact form: your name, email address, phone number and the details of your enquiry. Depending on the type of enquiry, this may also include your role, project location and the service you are interested in.
• When you make a career or job enquiry: any documents you attach, such as your CV or cover letter.
• Automatically, when you browse the site: basic technical and usage information (such as pages viewed, approximate location, and device and browser type), collected through analytics tools.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We also use Microsoft Clarity, which records how pages are used — mouse movement, clicks, scrolling and the pages visited — and turns this into heatmaps and session playbacks so we can find and fix parts of the site that are hard to use. Our contact form is masked, so the details you type into it, including any attachments, are not captured in these recordings. Maps on the site are provided by Mapbox, which may collect usage and device information on our behalf. Where we link to Google Maps, that link opens Google’s own site or app and nothing is shared with Google until you follow it.

We also use Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing. These tools help us measure enquiries that come from our advertising, and may show you LDE advertisements on other websites based on your earlier visit to this site. Google may use cookies and similar identifiers for this purpose. You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google’s Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com. We also use the Meta pixel, provided by Meta (Facebook and Instagram). It tells us when a visit to this site followed one of our Meta advertisements, and allows us to show LDE advertisements to people who have already visited the site. Meta may set cookies and similar identifiers for this purpose, and may match that activity to a Facebook or Instagram account where you have one. You can control this through your Facebook ad preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences.

These analytics and advertising services set cookies and similar identifiers in your browser (for example Google Analytics _ga cookies, Google Ads conversion cookies, Microsoft Clarity _clck and _clsk cookies, and the Meta _fbp cookie). You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; the website will still work, though some measurement will be less accurate.

• To respond to your enquiry and provide the services you ask for.
• To consider your application if you contact us about a job.
• To operate, maintain and improve this website.
• To meet our legal and business obligations.

Enquiries submitted through our contact form, including any attachments such as CVs, are sent by email to the relevant LDE team. Attachments are not published on this website or stored in any publicly accessible location.

We use trusted third-party providers to run our website and business, including Microsoft 365 (email), Vercel (website hosting), Cloudflare (content delivery and file storage), Google and Microsoft Clarity (analytics), Meta (advertising), Mapbox (maps) and Sentry (error monitoring, which records technical details of website errors so we can fix them). These providers process information on our behalf. We do not sell your personal information.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it to handle your enquiry, deliver our services and meet our legal and business obligations, after which we securely dispose of it.

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask for access to, and correction of, the personal information we hold about you. To make a request, please contact us at admin@lde.co.nz. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date shown above indicates when it was last updated.
