Ōpaheke S.H.A

The former Papakura Golf Course at 29 Bellfield Road and the adjoining property at 117 Ōpaheke Road in Papakura have been identified by Auckland Council and the Government as a Special Housing Area (S.H.A.).

LDE and its Principal have been involved in the geotechnical aspects of this S.H.A. since its inception. The Qualifying Development obtained Resource Consent, and LDE was subsequently engaged to undertake detailed design of retaining walls and earthworks. Specifically, LDE and/or its Principal have:

• Undertaken preliminary investigations across the S.H.A. study area in 2014 • Undertaken geotechnical assessments in February 2016 in the northern part of Ōpaheke Park, to be constructed as part of a development agreement with Council • Prepared a geotechnical investigation report for Resource Consent • Prepared a Statement of Expert Evidence in relation to HASHAA legislation and proposed private variation request 20 to the Proposed Auckland Unitary Plan, and attended a hearing to respond to various submitters • Dealt with artesian groundwater flows
