Blast Furnace Reline

WGA provided planning, project management and engineering support for the $80m reline of the Blast Furnace at OneSteel's Whyalla Steelworks. Of particular importance to the project was the hearth steel platform which was specifically designed to expedite the demolition and rebuilding of the inside of the furnace. We also undertook the design of hydraulic pipework and steel supports, thermal expansion analysis and lifting and rigging solutions.
