Hīhītahi Rise Landslide

LDE conducted a detailed geotechnical investigation and stabilisation of a large-scale, deep-seated suburban landslide.

The investigation was to determine the nature and cause of the land instability affecting some 95m of the site.  In addition to ongoing deformation in the road and surrounding land, a nearby water reservoir also required geotechnical considerations to protect the asset and surrounding properties.

A preliminary report summarising key findings of the investigation was issued to the client, followed by a land monitoring program and a final geotechnical report with recommendations for the stabilisation options of the road and the neighbouring land.  Drawings and design details included.
