ABC Shiploader Facility
Delivered by Wallbridge Gilbert Aztec (WGA)
Project Overview
An ageing 120 tonne loading boom of a bulk cement shiploader was replaced with a modern low emissions screw conveyor.
WGA leveraged three of our specialist skill areas.
Our heavy lift capability specified an appropriately sized (600 tonne) land-based crawler crane, complete with superlift attachment for the task, while our maritime group provided water-based plant and equipment engineering services for the temporary works including barging of the new ship loading boom into position for lifting. Lastly, our geotechnical engineers ensured that the 1,000 tonnes of heavy crane was stable, perched on the edge of the riverbank for the complex lifting operation.
The technical challenges of the project exerted cost pressure on the budget, WGA’s extensive lifting experience and industry knowledge enables us to evolve the situation to meet the clients budget expectations.
