Carousel Development

WGA’s Perth office completed the structural and civil design of the Carousel Shopping Centre expansion in a joint venture with MPN Consulting. Carousel has recaptured the title of Perth’s largest shopping centre with this $350m redevelopment. The expansion included a new mall, creating a total of 70 new stores, a David Jones department store and a revamped Hoyts cinema with rooftop dining in the new Entertainment and Leisure Precinct. A multi-storey car-park was designed and constructed to hold 700 car bays.

Civil design included widening the Albany Highway (owned by Main Roads WA) to accommodate a bus lane, and the designing of upgrades to two Albany Highway intersections at Liege Street and William Street, as well as carpark layouts and stormwater drainage.
