Mount Keith Haul Road

WGA provided detailed design for the construction of a 16km section of the Mt Keith Haul Road, for the BHP mine site at Mt Keith. The design involved the horizontal and vertical design of the haul road, including a central dividing bund and overtaking bays every 300m. WGA completed the hydrology and hydraulics designs for the road, designing a combination of culvert crossings and floodway crossings. WGA was also responsible for completing the pavement design.The road footprint was constrained by a tight corridor which restricted the drainage works and earthworks and environmental issues were required to be considered during the design and final alignment.
