North South Interconnection Systems Project (NSISP)

WGA was the lead engineering and construction designer for the Western and Eastern Design and Construction stages of SA Water’s NSISP project. The project was delivered to improve water supply and distribution across Adelaide by linking the Adelaide Desalination plant with other water storage sites within SA Water’s network.

WGA’s role included pipe alignment design, preparation of long sections, micro tunnelling pit and setup layouts, input to Safety in Design and risk workshops, thrust block and fitting arrangement drawings and preparation of as-constructed drawings.

SA Water’s NSISP Project Director commented at the time that the project ‘has completely transformed the way in which SA Water’s metropolitan water network functions and operates – a large, complex and incredibly challenging proposition’.
