Ore Haulage Roads, The Granites
Project Overview
WGA provided design and construction supervision of 42km of new road infrastructure, and the preliminary design of a further 40km of roads.
Geotechnical investigations revealed the presence of subsurface Palaeolithic channels. The lack of defined creek beds resulted in surface water lying for weeks before eventually disappearing beneath the sands.
To overcome this issue, laterite deposits located near the site were selected and used as road base material.
