How do you plan a waterfront structure for sea-level rise?
We set design water levels using national sea-level-rise guidance over the life of the structure, then check crest height, freeboard and overtopping against them. On Auckland’s low-lying harbour edge this keeps a new seawall or wharf serviceable as the sea rises, rather than just under present conditions.
